Meet the Maker: Meera Lee Patel September 21 2015, 0 Comments

This year our main focus has been on finding new small batch makers with both materials and labor sourced solely in the USA. We are curating a unique collection of well crafted goods, and along with those goods, the one-of-a-kind makers themselves! This is the first entry for our Meet the Maker series where we will introduce you to our producers so that the story behind the piece and the artisan can be told!

Meera Lee Patel, self-taught artist and sole-gal design team, was raised on the New Jersey shore and currently lives + works in Brooklyn, NY. Meera takes inspiration for her line of paper goods and textiles from the magical mysteries of nature, the quiet stories that lace through everyday life, and the bold colors of her native India. She partners with fellow independent businesses to help manufacture her line of goods including a screen printer in Rochester, NY, a family-run sewing collective in Coopersville, MI, and a printing company in Brooklyn, NY. Meera's studio uses local, eco-friendly, and recycled materials for all of their products including this Love You to the Moon (& Back) greeting card and trio of nature-inspired tea towels
